Christmas Eve for Aspen and 2 days till Sydney is born

We did things different this year since I will be in the hospital on Christmas Eve and morning. We had Christmas Eve tonight for our sweet Aspen! We made Christmas cookies for Santa and then watched Shrek and some of Willie Wonka. She wasn't too fond of that. It's not much of a toddler movie. I've really enjoyed spending time with Aspen this Christmas season and making some fun Christmas traditions with her. We are so excited to have Sydney and to add to our family. I have been praying for my girls to love each other and to be best friends. I look forward to next Christmas when I have a sweet one year old and three year old. God is so good to us. Have a Merry Christmas and we will see you on Wednesday morning when we deliver Sydney!!

Playing in the leaves after our first SNOW

Two days after we had unheard of snow everything was back to normal and we had a little fun outside. Guy was in the garage painting Aspen's toy chest and I asked Aspen if she wanted to play in the leaves. I raked them all up in a pile and she had so much fun. Enjoy the pictures! Nan

Only a week and a half till Baby #2 is Born!

I haven't posted a pregnant picture in a while so here it is! I am 37 weeks pregnant and ready to see little Sydney's face! We are getting ready for everything and this week my sweet husband undertook a new project. We took the dresser out of Aspen's room because we think Sydney will need that more right now and Guy is in the process of building a toy chest out of a bench I have. This bench actually was my bed growing up and then my mom had it turned into a cute bench for me! Well, I covered it in red and cream toille and it looked great in our house in Lubbock. We now want to put it in Aspen's room but wanted to make better use of it. The color is a little bit yellow, the cushion doesn't match and we need this bench to hold toys! This week Guy bought a bunch of lumber and so far the toy chest is looking great! I recovered the seat with a pretty pink and all that is left to do now is to paint the bench white! It is going to be an awesome toy chest/seat!

Me at 37 weeks pregnant!

The new toy chest/bench! Picture it all white!!

Me and my girl cuddling before bedtime tonight. She asked me to sing her, "Twinkle Twinkle". I always oblige because I like that she still needs me!!! :-)

SNOW.....IN HOUSTON!!!!!!
I have lived where it snows my whole life and I do not think I have ever been this excited to see it! It has not snowed in Houston in 4 years and we have lived here a year a half and have never seen snow. The last time we saw it was while we were in the hospital after Aspen was born. It snowed for a few days and she came home to our house with snow covering everything!! I am due with Baby Sydney in 2 weeks and it is so neat that it is snowing here. Aspen had a rough night and for some reason would not fall asleep. She had been in her room crying for a really long time when we looked outside to see our entire yard covered with snow! So...being the good mother I am, I got Aspen out of bed (so now she thinks we will not be consistant with going to bed :-)) and we put her warm clothes on and took her outside to play for a while. Needless to say she did not go to bed till 10:45 and her usual bed time is 8:00. She loved the snow and her daddy taught her how to throw snow balls at her very pregnant mommy. NICE DADDY!!! After we played a while we came in and started a fire and Aspen wanted a snack. We were in a tradition making mood, so we all got a glass a milk and had some donuts and milk and watched the snow fall! It was a really great memory and you never know but this could be one of the only times Aspen will ever see snow.
